You can choose where you go for your imaging needs. Not all imaging centers are the same. At DCA, our friendly staff and certified medical professionals focus on delivering comfortable, compassionate care. Our state-of-the-art technology and outstanding radiologists ensure the highest-quality images and the most accurate results.
What to Expect
Your visit with us should be as pleasant and comfortable as possible. It is very important that you feel our commitment to patient care from the moment you walk through our doors until completion of your exam. Our centers are designed with ease-of-access in mind. Located in easy-to-find medical locations, we offer parking just outside the front entrance. Please remember to bring:
- Health insurance card
- All previous mammogram films
- Medical history
- Prescription/referral/authorization paperwork
- A list of your current medications
- Any previous films for comparison
A friendly front-office staff member will check you in and answer any questions about your visit. After you have checked in, you may relax in our reception area and enjoy a complimentary beverage. A member of our team will escort you to your procedure and stay with you throughout. If you are having an MRI exam, you will be asked to remove your watch/phone/credit cards and any metal objects from your body and secure them, along with your other personal items. You will then be escorted to the imaging suite, where the technologist will explain your exam and answer your questions before performing the procedure.
Your Imaging Procedure
Our imaging suites are large rooms with lots of natural lighting or customized light panels. The technologist performs the scan from the adjoining room, monitoring the entire process through a large window. He/she will be in constant contact with you, letting you know what to expect and how long it will take. Be sure to tell the technologist if you need anything to make you more comfortable.
When You Are Done
Once your testing is complete, you will be free to leave. The technologist or assistant will escort you to the dressing room or lobby. The technologist will then transfer your images to one of our DCA physicians, a radiologist experienced in subspecialty procedures on the specific area you had examined. The radiologist will then create a report to share with your physician.
