Exam Prep

Question: What should I bring with me to my appointment?

  • Photo ID
  • Health insurance card(s)
  • Prescription/referral or authorization paperwork
  • All previous mammogram films (if appropriate)
  • Medical history
  • List of your current medications
  • Any previous films and reports for comparison

Question: What should I wear for my exam?

Answer: It depends on the examination, however, we normally recommend that you wear clothing without metal buttons and comfortable tops with easy access to your arm for blood pressure and IV injections if needed.

Question: How should I prepare for my exam?

Answer: Please do NOT wear any lotions, powders, creams, or deodorant. Otherwise, you will receive specific preparation instructions by email, according to the imaging exam you are taking prior to the appointment.


Question: How much will I pay at the time of the exam?

Answer: An estimated patient responsibility will be provided to you either prior to your appointment or at check-in. If your responsibility is over $50, we will call you before your appointment to let you know.

Question: Can I pay my bill online?

Answer: Yes, please go to our online payment portal at https://www.patientnotebook.com

Question: How can I find out my account balance?

Answer: You can find out your balance in two ways. Check online at https://www.patientnotebook.com or call our billing department at 561.496.6935 to speak with one of our billing specialists. Please note that depending on when your claim was submitted, an adjudication of the claim may be in progress and your balance is an estimate.

After Your Exam

Question: Can I get a copy of my report?

Answer: Your report is available in your patient portal approximately 24-48 hours after exam completion. Please consult your physician with any questions about your report. For questions regarding your patient portal, call us at 561.496.6935.

Question: Can I get a copy of my images?

Answer: DCA will be happy to provide you with an image CD that can be played on any computer. Please call our Medical Records Department to pick up your CD within 24 hours. You may also request a CD after your exam and a CD will be provided to you. Please allow up to 30 minutes to get a CD, depending on how many CDs are in the process of being made at the time of your request.


Question: What if I am claustrophobic or anxious about my exam?

Answer: We understand your concern and we hear this often. Our MRI machines have a large open feeling, 70cm bores that allow most people to feel at ease. You may ask your physician to prescribe Valium prior to your exam. We recommend you have a driver take you home after your examination.

Question: I am a large-sized person. Should I let someone know before my exam?

Answer: All of our machines are able to accommodate most people of different sizes and weights. If you are concerned about your comfort, please let the scheduling specialist know.
