Patient Experience

Welcome to DCA. It is our goal to make your visit with us as pleasant as possible. It is very important to us that you feel our commitment to patient care and comfort from the moment you walk through our doors to the completion of your exam.

Arriving at DCA

All of our centers are built with ease-of-access in mind. Located in easy-to-find medical locations, our centers offers parking just outside the front entrance. Complimentary transportation in the Palm Beach County area is available for patients who are scheduled for an MRI, CT or PET examination.

Meeting Our Front Office Staff

Once you enter, you will be greeted by a friendly front office staff member. Our staff are there to check you in and answer any questions you may have about your visit. After you have checked in, you may have a seat in our lobby. Feel free to ask a staff member for a beverage to make your visit more comfortable, we keep an assortment behind the front desk.

Meeting Our Clinical Staff

A DCA technologist or assistant will come out to escort you to your procedure. He or she will be with you throughout your visit. You will be asked if you need to use the restroom and if not, you will then be taken to the changing room (depending on your procedure). If you are having an MRI, you will be asked to remove your watch/phone/credit cards and any metal from your body to secure it, along with your personal items. Next, you will be escorted into the imaging suite where the technologist will explain the details of your exam and give you an opportunity to ask questions before performing the procedure.

Our Imaging Suites

Our imaging suites are large rooms with lots of natural lighting and/or customized light panels. The technologist performs the scan from the adjoining room, monitoring the entire process through a large window. He/she will be in constant contact with you via a microphone, letting you know what to expect and how long it will take. If you have any feelings of concern, let the technologist know so they can make you more comfortable.

You are Finished!

Once you have completed your procedure, you will be free to leave unless you are scheduled for a second test. The technologist or assistant will help you off the table and walk you to the dressing room/lobby.

The technologist then transfers the images from your exam to one of our physicians at DCA, a radiologist who is experienced in subspeciality procedures of the specific area of the body you had examined. The radiologist will then dictate a report to share with your physician.

Give your doctor’s office a call if you have questions on next steps or follow-up appointments.
